Currently there are four additional research groups at the Institute:

The Minerva group Aerosol & Regional Air Quality of Dr. Yafang Cheng deals with the interaction of aerosols and regional air quality.

The research group High Pressure Cemistry and Physics of Dr. Mikhail Eremets studies the behavior of matter under extremely high pressure by using a special diamond anvil cell.

Dr. Kathryn Fitzsimmons and her group Terrestrial Paleoclimates use loess in Eurasia as climate archives for information of past climates.

The Satellite Research Group of Prof. Dr. Thomas Wagner analyzes satellite data in order to draw conclusions about tropospheric and stratospheric trace gases.
