Aerosol, Cloud & Surface Interactions

Research Group Dr. Hang Su (h.su@mpic.de)

Key Topics:

  • Activation of cloud condensation nuclei (CCN) and ice nuclei (IN)
  • Hygroscopicity and chemical compositions of nano particles
  • Interactions and buffering effects between aerosols, clouds and the biosphere
  • Contrasts between polluted megacity and pristine rainforest environments

Job opportunities:

Postdoctoral (and Ph.D) positions are open at MPIC. The research will focus on (1) measurements and modelling of aerosol-cloud interactions; (2) investigation of single aerosol particles with fluorescence and Raman Microscopy.

The successful candidates are expected to be highly motivated and have a background in aerosol related research and strong experimental or modelling skills. Demonstrated commitment to publication of results are required.

Please send your CV, 3 first-author paper reprints (1 for Ph. D positions) and a list of 2-3 references to Dr. Hang Su (h.sumpicde). You can also include a research statement describing your interest.
