Main Focus
My research focuses on understanding atmospheric chemical processes and their implications for air quality and climate. My current research interests include gas-phase and multiphase halogen chemistry, atmospheric oxidation processes, ozone formation, and gas–aerosol interactions. I am particularly interested in investigating the roles of reactive chlorine and other halogen species in atmospheric oxidant budgets, aerosol formation, and regional air pollution using numerical atmospheric chemistry models.
Curriculum Vitae
I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Aerosol Chemistry at the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry (MPIC) in Mainz, Germany. I completed my doctoral research at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras), India, specializing in atmospheric chemistry, air pollution, and numerical modeling. My doctoral research focused on the impacts of anthropogenic chlorine emissions on regional air quality and the influence of urban expansion on wintertime fog. I have experience working with atmospheric models, including GEOS-Chem, the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model, and the CAABA MECCA box model, to investigate atmospheric chemical processes, air pollution, and urban meteorology.
