Around 320 employees from all over the world work at the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry. We do cutting-edge research, and of course you will receive top-notch training from. We have been training precision mechanics and electronics technicians for devices and systems for many years and been recognized for our well-founded, interdisciplinary training and excellently equipped training facility.

Our scientists research on chemical processes of the Earth system. For example, if you want to find out how air pollution affects the atmosphere, the climate and our health. To do this, they travel by planes, ships and measurement vehicles. Their expeditions take them to many exotic places such as the Brazilian jungle or the Arctic.

The work and job training in research is important for our society and just as exciting. The projects often differ greatly from one another. Your everyday working life is correspondingly varied. As a trainee in the workshop or in the electronics/instrument development working group, you build devices and instruments that our researchers need for their experiments.
