Inorganic stable isotope laboratory
Here we provide stable isotope analyses of a variety of samples. The lab is mostly focused on providing isotope records from speleothems, corals, mollusc shells, foraminifera, tooth enamel, and wood cellulose. Analytically, the lab is based on three Delta-V mass spectrometers, with various prep units, as well as two Isotope Ratio Infrared Spectrometers.
Laser ablation trace element laboratory
In this laboratory we have an ESI ImageGEO193 laser ablation system, that can be coupled to either a Thermo Element-2 or an Agilent 7900 ICP-MS system. Using these systems, we perform high-precision trace element analyses of a variety of materials, like speleothems, corals, molluscs and foraminifera.
N.B. Since 2025, the production and distribution of reference materials for laser ablation analysis, such as the “MPI-Ding” glasses, has been discontinued. We can no longer provide such materials now.
