RICO-PRACS (Rain In Cumulus clouds over the Ocean - Puerto Rico Aerosol and Cloud Study)

Puerto Rico, December 2004

A field project on the East Peak at Puerto Rico, with the objective to characterize cloud formation in the tropical trade wind region, using the Aerodyne AMS in combination with a counterflow virtual impactor (CVI) in order to study cloud droplet residual compostion.

In 2011 we returned for a follow-up project named "PRADACS".

Cooperation with:
TROPOS Leipzig (S. Mertes), UNAM Mexico (D. Baumgardner, G. Raga), Univ. Puerto Rico (O. Mayol), Univ, Manchester (H. Coe, J. Allan), Biogeo Dept. of MPI-C (G. Frank, U. Dusek)

Instruments:
Q-AMS, Grimm OPC 1.108, Grimm SMPS
